Elizabeth Haynes is our first confirmed author for the 2012 Unconvention and came highly recommended by this year’s local representative karen07814

Elizabeth has been a story-teller all her life, although her career has taken her from selling cars to being a police intelligence analyst. She began writing seriously when a friend introduced her to National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) in 2006. The idea is to write 50000 words in the month of November and Elizabeth has achieved this in each of the 6 years since she first discovered the NaNoWriMo project.

In 2008, NaNoWriMo resulted in the first draft of what eventually became Elizabeth’s first published novel. Into the Darkest Corner was published by Myriad Editions in 2011 and tells the story of a young woman who is driven into the darkest corners of her world. It was voted Amazon’s Best Book of the Year in 2011 and was featured on The TV Book Club in 2012. Elizabeth herself was named one of Amazon’s Rising Stars of 2011 and one of 10 Women to Watch in 2012 by the BookPage blog The Book Case.

Elizabeth’s second novel Revenge of the Tide was published by Myriad earlier this year. It is the story of a young woman, office worker by day and pole dancer by night, who finds herself embroiled in a world of mob murder and corruption. She is currently working on her third novel which is due for release next year.
